Nokia has announced the launch of Bicycle Charger Kit that is compatible with all Nokia phones that have a 2 mm charging interface.

The kit consists of three components: a bottle dynamo, a charger and a phone holder. The bottle dynamo fits to the front of the bike with a mounting bracket. The charger and phone holder attach securely to the handle bars.

The Bicycle Charger of Nokia will be available in March this year to hit the Indian market. The new Nokia’s Bicycle Charger will cost Rs. 1,499 in India, which is little costly as the cost of charger is almost the same to the cost of a bicycle. With this new Bicycle Charger, Nokia will do good business in the rural areas as in these areas there is always a less electricity power supply problem. This Bicycle Charger uses the concept of converting the kinetic energy which is produced by pedaling the cycle into electrical energy.

In countries like India and China where bicycles still are a common means of transport, a very reliable source of electricity like this that could be used to charge ones phone could prove to be indispensable.
